About us....

Expedition Carolina is Lake Jocassee's premier Kayak Tour and Stand Up Paddle Board tour guide service.

We started out of the adventurous spirit of two college friends and frequent visitors to the scenic Lake Jocassee on their yearly camping trips. Kayaking from the visitor center to Laurel Fork Falls (about 3 hours), Daniel and Eric decided they wanted to share their adventurous spirit with Carolina residents, many of whom may be unaware of the true beauty in their own backyard.

Starting as Jocassee Kayak Adventure, Expedition Carolina was born.

Daniel Jacob - Guide

With 9 years of kayak and lifeguard/water rescue experience, Daniel has designed our trips with fun, but most importantly, safety in mind. He has a passion for the outdoors and a desire to share the beauty of the Carolinas with others. Founding Jocassee Kayak Adventures in 2011, Daniel wanted to help more people access the upstates lakes and hidden waterfalls - an idea that today has become Expedition Carolina, The Southeast's Premier Adventure Outfitter.

Eric Beringer - Guide

Eric, captain of logistics for Expedition Carolina, resides in Charlotte, NC. Eric grew up on the water, taking many sailing trips with his family and spending most weekends out on Lake Norman. Meeting Daniel while attending the University of South Carolina, these two quickly became friends as their bond over the outdoors led them on many camping trips exploring the wonders of the southeastern wilderness.
